Culross
Historic Scottish Village.
Half an hour away.
Step into the past with a visit to Culross: a perfectly preserved 17th century Scottish burgh.
Culross Palace, the ochre-coloured 16th century building sits at the centre of the town. Step into the historic rooms.
Street of tiny white houses, wee lanes and spectacular gardens are a great place to spend an afternoon.
Culross is, of course, a major attraction to Outlander fans.
It features as Cranesmuir – the town next to Castle Leoch – in season one.
Furthermore, the ruined church features as the Black Kirk and Claire's herb garden is also to be found at Culross.
In season two the town can be seen in the distance behind the Jacobite Camp.
Whilst in season four, Balriggan Cottage is to be found within the confines of the village.
